Major architectural paint manufacturers have launched their own color mixing systems and established color mixing centers in large and medium-sized cities across the country. At present, water-based universal colorants or water-based colorants are mainly used for POS tinting in retail stores of latex paints, and a few manufacturers have taken the lead in launching POS tinting systems for solvent-based wood polyurethane paints and factory computer automatic tinting systems for architectural coatings.

The color matching system is composed of system color paste, basic paint, color mixing machine, color card, spectrophotometer, color matching and color management software, among which the system color paste is one of the cores of the color matching system. Enterprises will face many color paste systems when promoting color mixing systems. To choose the color paste for their own system, they must conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the color paste system. From the perspective of color expectations, it is hoped that the more color pastes, the better, because the more color pastes, the wider the color gamut covered; but in terms of material inventory and equipment investment, the less color paste counts, the better. Therefore, when designing the color system of the color matching system, we must comprehensively consider the color gamut range, investment, product performance, pigment performance, accuracy of color matching, packaging size and special market demand of the product that the product is expected to cover.
